Bug Description
When I load a new (non-Bambu) filament, the AMS tries to detect it as usual, shows me the the "unknown Filament" questionmark, but BamBuddy UI shows the AMS slot as "Empty Spool" so I can't link it to existing Spoolman-Spools
When setting generic PETG (e.g.) on the printer-side, it shows as Generic PETG but I still can't link it to Spoolman.
I am not sure, if this is a misunderstanding on my part here or if it is a bug.
Expected Behavior
I load a generic spool of something I have added to Spoolman via the integration and BamBuddy lets me either create or link a spool from Spoolman to the AMS-Slot

Printer Firmware Version
01.08.00.00

Do you have a matching spool without tag in Spoolman?
@Schuermi7 commented on GitHub (Jan 27, 2026):
In this instance I loaded a pink PETG filament by Eryone into the AMS but since Eryone is not one of the supported Filament makers, I can't select that on the printer in third-party Filament configuration.
When I set the printer-AMS up with Pink colour and Generic PETG, it shows PETG with Pink colour in the Bambuddy AMS section but still there is no "Link to Spoolman".
The spool in Spoolman is created using the same HEX-Code colour as the Bambu example Pink and has no tag set.
@maziggy commented on GitHub (Jan 28, 2026):
Wait....currently only Bambu Lab spool are supported. There's another upcoming project which supports all kind of spools with your own tags. Check out https://spoolbuddy.cool
@Schuermi7 commented on GitHub (Jan 28, 2026):
Ah sorry. Yeah I misread this part of the documentation[1] since it mentions "vendor" as a choosable field which implies more than Bambu.
But I get it and I am quite excited for SpoolBuddy.
Is there already an ETA on when it will be released?

Not yet. Beta testing is starting hopefully next week.
