Problem or Use Case

This is probably opinion but have you all considered renaming "Files Manager" to "Library" and "Archives" to "Files".

When you first upload a print file it goes to the archive before it's really ever printed. I feel like the current Files Manager better named as "Library" as it's prints you would consider re-printing multiple times and not just as one off prints.

Proposed Solution

  • Rename "Files Manager" to "Library"
  • Rename "Archives" to "Files"

I'd like to add my support for this. The "Archive" and the CTAs along with it are pretty confusing to me. When I think of archive, I think of a way to clear these items from the workspace, in a not-quite-delete sort of way

As someone new to 3D printing, with just a single printer, the workflow after a file lands on Bambuddy is a bit awkward...and maybe these names/actions are the largest piece of it making sense in my head. I'd also add that "Reprint" CTA is confusing if the model has never been printed before

Edit: I'm actually wondering if there's a way to consolidate Library and Archives? Do they need to be separate?

I have since decided to retract this idea. If the ability to upload to archives directly was removed, it would make the archive space more sensible. Printing from the Files Manager only makes sense to me now.

I would add an option for the virtual printer to allow selecting the file manager here as well.
It’s simply not as easy to manage the files in the archive.
