Problem or Use Case
I have other klipper printers and I use spoolman to track filament usage. It would be great to also have filament usage tracking via spoolman not only for Bambu filaments but all other filaments in spoolman database.
Proposed Solution
It would be amazing being able to sync my existing spoolman database to bambuddy and have on option to set spoolman filament spools via a dropdown list to the different ams slots. And have automatic filament usage tracking of these spools.
Every time a new filament spool is loaded into the AMS it would be brilliant if I could set up a notification with a link that gets me directly to the spoolman filament spools dropdown menu of the corresponding ams slot so I can choose the correct new spoolman filament spool.
Idk if that is even possible but one can dream 😊

@maziggy commented on GitHub (Mar 7, 2026):
This is possible with the internal spool inventory. Since it's already more feature rich than Spoolman, it's the prefered inventory. There are no plans to extend Spoolman integration. There's also an upcoming Spoolbuddy integration, which has full automation support for Bambu Lab and noon Bambu Lab spools.

Yes, but this internal spool inventory or upcoming Spoolbuddy isn't compatible with other Klipper printers, is it?
What if I take a spool from my ams and print sth. with it using a Klipper printer or vice versa?... Then the whole spool tracking is thrown off...
It's unfortunate that we open up a closed system like Bambu's just to create another closed system that won't work with other Klipper printers...
