Problem or Use Case

Currently the Notifications tab in Settings is buried within those permissions. Without giving a user full Admin capability, they cannot enable notifications.

Proposed Solution

  • Set notifications to a menu option for the left-nav menu.
  • Allow admins to set which type of notifications are allowed to be enabled.
  • Use the email advanced authentication settings for email notifications when enabled
  • Allow per user notifications for jobs they submit.

Alternatives Considered

I can assist in building this out but need some guidance on what the community would expect first.

@maziggy Is the main branch up to date with the latest release? It seems stale.

Nope, main branch is always the latest non-beta release.

Could we also add a configuration option, to show/hide notifications in sidebar? I think there are a lot of users not requiring it in sidebar and so they could disable it.
