🐞 Describe the bug
I've freshly installed the iOS app. I've been sending test notifications that reach the web app fine, but don't automatically seem to push to the iOS app. I don't see them unless I swipe down to refresh on that subscription.
💻 Components impacted
iOS app
💡 Screenshots and/or logs
🔮 Additional context
I'm using the default server.
@binwiederhier commented on GitHub (Feb 5, 2026):
@blissdev This is against ntfy.sh?
@blissdev commented on GitHub (Feb 5, 2026):
@binwiederhier Yes
@binwiederhier commented on GitHub (Feb 5, 2026):
@wunter8 Have you heard this before? I thought that the iOS app works good enough for ntfy.sh, but not well for selfhosted. This is news to me
@wunter8 commented on GitHub (Feb 5, 2026):
I've heard of people having problems with the ntfy.sh instance and the native iOS app when upgrading to iOS 26. It would work before the upgrade and then not after the upgrade. Reinstalling usually fixed it in that case.
I haven't heard of it not working on a fresh install. Have you tried reinstalling?
@binwiederhier commented on GitHub (Feb 5, 2026):
My guess is that the Firebase topic subscription gets lost somehow. I am looking into hiring someone to replace the iOS app. It's time I think
@blissdev commented on GitHub (Feb 5, 2026):
Reinstalling worked. Kinda weird since I had just installed it.
