You can use the PWA on macOS. On macOS 14+ you can use Safari and notifications will work even when the app and browser are closed.

On previous macOS versions you can install it via Chrome, but will only receive notifications as long as a Chrome window is open somewhere (ntfy doesn't need to be open).

It is not notarized but you can easily build it from source with brew.
