Hi, running uninstall script uninstalls all previous installed extensions except Custom Ui Style and Github Copilot.
If this is unpreventable, a clear warning should be stated.

I have also had this issue, but when re-installing the theme.
Given there's no auto-update or update notifications, I reinstalled the theme using the one-liner for macOS and, after restarting VS Code, all extensions were gone.
@nacimgoura commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2026):
How can I recover my deleted extensions ?
@narayana-dev commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2026):
I lost all my extensions too
@Juullian commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2026):
Same here, i installed it and lost all my extension. If you use the Sync Feature you can recover the extensions
@narayana-dev commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2026):
@Juullian Unfortunately I wasnt syncing to cloud. VScode local backup was overwritten. Would have preferred to atleast know about this anywhere. It wasn't even mentioned in the docs
@buiducnhat commented on GitHub (Mar 3, 2026):
Damn, even when installing also remove all extensions
@alfianridwan commented on GitHub (Mar 3, 2026):
This was lowkey a traumatic experience, but I managed to save my settings and extensions via CMD/CTRL + SHIFT + P then Settings Sync: Show Synced Data. On the left panel, I can view my history of settings and extensiosn and click on the "back arrow" icon to restore it.
Never again will I mess with my VS Code, lol.
@XMR13 commented on GitHub (Mar 4, 2026):
same bro, all of extensions are gone
EDIT: I can't even access my settings now LMAOOOO
